Last year I made these bottles of pink rose cordial from the many sweetly scented roses in my garden. We used it for everything from pouring over ice cream to mixing with gin and having with lemonade, it’s so versatile. This year I’ve left the roses alone because they make the perfect backdrop to where we’ve put the little pool this year, so I’ll be harvesting lots of elderflowers this week instead, I’m probably going to try making elderflower wine too! Chin chin! 😊
I was waiting for The Berkshire Husband to come in from the garden and was sitting in the kitchen at a loose end. I realised I had about 20-30 minutes on my hands so decided to make my way flapjack recipe and pop some melted chocolate on top. I used Butterscotch Flavoured golden syrup this time, and it definitely added a nice, little twist to them. They got scoffed by all the family so it was definitely a few minutes well spent 😂 Why not try them yourself? They’re ridiculously easy and perfect for lunch boxes, teatime, snacks, Sundays, tired husbands trying to set the pool up, you name it! 😊 You can get the recipe here: https://youtu.be/8RohhTtX4Do
I need cupcake inspiration! I’ve been playing it safe with flavours for ages now, carrot cake, vanilla, chocolate, raspberry, orange, lemon, marzipan etc etc etc, but I’m wanting to be a little different. What flavour do you think would work but people might think it’s crazy? After all, beetroot is great in chocolate cake, and pumpkin works well as dessert but there must be something else to try? What unusual cake flavours do you love? Or are you traditional? If you want to try my simple but sensational vanilla raspberry cupcakes you can check out the recipe here: https://youtu.be/eHhvI_UmLcQ 😍🧁⠀
